Sherbrooke: 25-year-old woman stabbed by husband

A 25-year-old woman was stabbed by her husband, who was arrested in Sherbrooke, on the night of Monday to Tuesday. 

Police officers were called by the victim shortly after midnight about his stabbing that occurred in a building located on Bryant Street, near King Street West.

The victim was rushed to a hospital for non-life-threatening abdominal injuries.

Witnesses told police they heard screams as the suspect fled on foot, according to the police de Sherbrooke (SPS).

“As officers searched the outer perimeter for the suspect, they located a shirtless male matching the description,” police said.

The suspect, a 26-year-old man, was immediately arrested and will appear in custody later today on a charge of assault with a weapon, it was added.
