16-year-old found hanged in cell where he was serving time: He leaves behind a farewell letter

A 16-year-old inmate was found hanged this Sunday, August 19, 2024, in his cell at the Porcheville juvenile penitentiary (Yvelines). An investigation to determine the causes of death has been opened.

An investigation has been opened to find the causes of the death of this minor, detained after being sentenced by the Créteil court in June for domestic violence, the prosecutor said without giving details on the length of his sentence.

According to a police source, the teenager was found hanged in his cell around 8:00 a.m. Sunday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alone in his cell

Still According to this source, he was alone in his cell at the time of the events between 5:30 a.m. and 7:40 a.m. and left a farewell letter.
