Tuesday March 17, 2020, the first confinement announced the day before by Emmanuel Macron comes into force. Objective: to stem the Covid-19 epidemic which is spreading at high speed in the country. The French are ordered to drastically limit their travel, to only go out when absolutely necessary and to favor teleworking.

The figures are then frightening: according to a count published a few hours earlier by the national public health agency France, the toll of the epidemic has climbed to 148 deaths and 6,633 cases confirmed, i.e. 21 deaths and more than 1,190 additional proven cases in 24 hours. More than 400 people are currently hospitalized in serious condition.
