The last bitter defeat, and first in this 6 Nations Tournament, against Ireland (17-38) worries French rugby which hopes not to see the XV of France register a third defeat in a row against the & #39;Scotland, this Saturday February 10.
Do you feel up against the wall after the heavy defeat conceded against Ireland (38-17) in Marseille ?
We had a complicated start to the week. We all had a bit of a headache. We have rarely been humiliated like last week. We are keen to have a big match tomorrow (Saturday). We want to take the initiative, to offer play, to defend like we defended for four years and not like last weekend. To show our true colors (…) I am convinced that we have everything we need to do it. We haven't changed in two months. We had a big deviation last week. Now, this is where we see the great teams by not repeating it two weekends in a row. It’s up to us to take our responsibilities on the ground.
Are you driven by a feeling of revenge ?
It can be revenge, but against ourselves. There is a lot of pride too. We are proud to wear this jersey. So when we perform like last week, we are the first to suffer. We see the reaction of our supporters too. We play to make them proud, to make our loved ones proud and that wasn't the case last week (…) These are perhaps the easiest weeks to manage when we is captain. There is not a player who is satisfied, not one who is not motivated and who was not invested this week.
Murrayfield may not be the best place to start again…
I don't think he has any good or bad places. We know that in the Tournament, every weekend is complicated. I don't remember having had an easy match against Scotland. It's always a big fight. It's a team that also plays a lot and has exceptional X factors. We have been warned (…) We are going to play at 2 p.m. (3:15 p.m. French time), we will be welcomed with bagpipes. Everyone is very friendly, very cordial, very welcoming, but once on the pitch, there won't be all that anymore. It's a country and people who are very proud and very strong warriors. They will do anything to hurt us.
