9-year-old boy dies of appendicitis after doctors only diagnosed him with the flu

On December 14, 2022, young Dylan Cope died following undiagnosed appendicitis in Wales. However, doctors had only reported stomach flu. His parents testify.

"He was such a unique character, with a beautiful brand of passion and sensitivity", say the victim's parents. According to BBC, the father took Dylan to the hospital "The Grange University& ;quot; of Cwnbrân following violent stomach aches that occurred on December 6, 2022.

Appendicitis was suspected, however, the diagnoses are clear. A critical health condition which has worsened

After examinations once again confirming "flu " which may arise from "swollen glands", the 9-year-old child returned to his home, located in Newport. However, his condition worsened, according to the local newspaper South Wales Argus. Four days later, he was "writhing " on the couch, complaining of severe pain.

His father once again transported him to the same hospital "The Grange university". The young child was immediately transferred to the operating room for emergency surgery. This is where the real diagnosis came: Dylan was actually suffering from "irreversible septic shock&quot ; and his organs "were too damaged" so that there is a chance of recovery.

"An immensely painful decision"

The parents had been informed earlier that the little boy had very little chance of survival and that this could prolong his agony. "The decision was immensely painful", reported the victim's parents.

Dylan Cope subsequently died on December 14, 2022. The medical cause of death was officially released as "shock septic with multiorgan dysfunction caused by a perforated appendix". The investigation, for its part, is still ongoing.
