The municipality of Murviel-lès-Béziers has equipped its emergency center and technical services with 1,110 m2 of photovoltaic roofs. A project, in partnership with the company Dev'EnR and Enedis, which makes it possible to power several other municipal buildings using locally produced electricity
The municipality of Murviel-lès-Béziers has joined forces with Dev’EnR, an independent producer of renewable energies, for the installation of photovoltaic roofs on the two buildings of the fire station and municipal technical services, located on the outskirts of the town, north of Béziers.
Spanning 1,110 m2 of roof space, this solar installation demonstrates a real commitment to the environment for this town of 3,100 inhabitants. It has a total installed power of 210 kWp. And produces green electricity to the tune of 300 MWh per year, or the equivalent of the annual consumption of 93 homes (excluding heating).
In addition, the municipality of Murviel-lès-Béziers is engaged in a collective self-consumption operation in partnership with the Biterroise company Dev’EnR and Enedis. Result: electricity produced locally from the roof of the fire brigade and municipal workshops is shared with public buildings. Thus, since February 1, the first solar electrons have been supplying the town hall, the multi-activity room, the Jean-Guy school group and the youth and culture center.
"A 20% saving on the electricity bill"
"This operation will make it possible to supply 41% (85,360 kWh) of these four municipal buildings with solar and to make an average saving of 20% for the community on the electricity bill of these buildings", estimates Stéphane Bozzarelli, president of Dev’EnR, in a press release . "This project led by Dev’EnR provides a concrete response to communities, such as Murviel-lès-Béziers, by offering green electricity produced locally and at a low price more attractive kWh, without commitment and without investment for the municipality", he explains. Energy distribution is carried out by Enedis and Linky smart meters.
