Press week at school: “Our Olympic meeting!” D.R.

As part of press and media week in schools, from March 18 to 23, Midi Libre Sète opens its columns to students of Notre-Dame du Sous school -Drink. The articles below were written by the children, around the Olympic year.

During the months of November and December 2023, to develop our Olympic and Paralympic project, we participated in meetings with stakeholders in the Olympic Games because we needed information. These meetings took place in our Notre-Dame du Sous-Bois school.

The athletes respond to the students

We were able to talk with Olympic and Paralympic athletes: Julien Taurine, Paralympic gold medalist in judo in Tokyo, who came with his dog and his trainer, Thierry Peponnet medalist ;rsquo;gold and bronze in sailing, Benjamin Toniutti Olympic volleyball champion or Thomas Fernandez Paralympic athlete in ping pong. We also met Vanessa Cézac, gymnastics referee.

We met them in person or by videoconference. We introduced ourselves and asked the questions we had prepared and written on labels. We organized small exchange groups. They answered all our questions, even those that were not expected.

They told us about their passion, their sporting journey over time, their injuries and their difficulties sometimes and how they were able to overcome them. They showed us their medals. They gave us courage to play sports, they taught us that it was also through losing that we moved forward and that we should never give up and believe in our dreams.
