Explosion in the commercial port in Sète: impressive images of the fire at the Saipol factory
|This Wednesday, April 10, 2024, in the afternoon, an explosion took place in the commercial port of Sète, causing a fire and injuring one person.
Around 4:30 p.m. this Wednesday, thick black smoke was visible in the Sète sky. This came from a fire at the Saipol factory in the commercial port of Sète, following an explosion.
The incident took place in this grain crushing company (mostly rapeseed) intended to produce biofuel is classified in Seveso low threshold. One person was seriously injured, and the fire has since been brought under control and is now over.
