The international lyrical singing competition of the “Friends of Bel Canto” finished, with a final on Sunday April 14 open to the public, the voice will still resonate in Béziers the next day with the first edition of the Days of the Voice. The event was designed and produced by the En bonne voix association and the Équipage company, with the participation of the MJC de Béziers and the Béziers film club, in partnership with the City and the Théâtre des Franciscains.

Whether it is sung, spoken, slammed, declaimed or recorded, it will brighten up this performance venue located at 13 boulevard Duguesclin, in Béziers, ;from April 15 to 21. The program proposed by the City should satisfy a wide audience.

Master class

A lyrical singing master class is organized from Monday 15 to Friday April 19, Monday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., on other days from 10 a.m. at 5 p.m. It will be hosted by the soprano Ulrike Van Cotthem, assisted by the pianist from Béziers Nathalie Steinberg (who works at the Paris Conservatoire) and Henri Pace, an osteopathic energy specialist specializing in the opera voice.

A gourmet concert, with sweets and other tapas, will close the master class on Friday April 19, at 7 p.m. Participants and artists will come and present the work of the week. As the number of places is limited, registration is required.

"Live your voice"

This day of Wednesday, April 17, from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., organized in partnership with the MJC, is intended for young people wanting to discover their voice and try the experience of the scene. Two workshops are set up: choral singing from 8 to 17 years old, led by Emmanuel Caïzac, the leader of the Little Singers of the Trinity; slam from 12 to 17 years old, by the piano teacher Finèze and the slammer Nëggus. With snack and return of work at the end of the day. Price: 10 euros.

"Long live the voice !"

Join us for the first big evening of shows on Thursday, April 18 at 8 p.m. with Capucine and her impertinent Éliott, in "Viva la voix !&quot ;. The ventriloquist will be accompanied by Benoît Amy de la Bretèque, phoniatric doctor, the opera singer Ulrike Van Cotthem and her students, as well as the actor Fabio Gorgolini. "The voice behind the canvas"

Cinema evening in partnership with the Béziers film club with the screening of "Singing in the rain" and "The Music Master". Two cult films all about music and voices. Between the two screenings, meeting with Robert Le Gall, musician, artistic director in the studio, accompanist for the voices of Roberto Alagna, André Manoukian, Florent Pagny… He will come and talk about his job. Prices: 8 euros; a film, 14 € 2 films, 10 € the meal tray.

"The Brel promise"

The week dedicated to the voice ends on Sunday April 21, at 5 p.m., with the second major show at the municipal theater: that of Arnaud Askoy, the physical and vocal double of Jacques Brel. He will perform the master's great classics, accompanied by Roland Romanelli (pian, accordion) and Jean-Philippe Audin (cello). Price: 30 euros.
