Winner this Saturday, June 22 of the BMX Freestyle event of the Olympic Qualifier Series (OQS) in Budapest, the Montpellier-born Anthony Jeanjean officially obtained his ticket for the Paris Games, where he will be one big favorites.
"I felt really good about this competition. This bodes well for the Olympic Games. I am very happy because it was a step to take, but the most important step is in a month,” declared Jeanjean smiling after his victory.
The 26-year-old rider, three-time European champion (2019, 2021, 2022), achieved the two best passages of the competition in the final – noted 93.30 and 94.40 – thanks to a range of very varied figures.
In a very technical park, where there have been numerous falls since qualifying, the Frenchman was the most aerial and the most consistent, ahead of the American Marcus Christopher (2nd) and even the champion of the British world Kieran Reilly (3rd).
