In Toulouse, the astonishing fresco by an Aude artist

Shared accommodation: Montpellier, very expensive city

#REAL ESTATE – With its large student population, Montpellier is the most expensive city in Occitanie for shared accommodation, according to the barometer published by the online rental management company Oqoro. The analysis, based on a sample of 100,000 apartments offered for shared accommodation and 150,000 people looking for a room across France, reveals that the average price of a shared room in Montpellier is 505 euros per month, compared to 483 euros in Nîmes or 465 euros in Toulouse. The barometer indicates that shared accommodation rent is on average 13% cheaper than a studio and 35% less than a T2. Regarding expenses, the gap is around 30%. Oqoro also specifies that the average number of applications received for a shared room in Montpellier is 8.1, which makes it the sixth most tense urban area in France. The barometer indicates that at the end of the summer, 96% of Montpellier rooms are occupied.

#EDUCATION –This is the success rate for the national patent diploma tests in the Montpellier academy. During the 2024 session, 29,119 candidates were admitted, i.e. a rate of 85.6%, down 2.6 points compared to 2023. It was Lozère which won the palme d’or with a success rate of 91.9%, followed by Hérault with 86.8% and the Pyrénées-Orientales with 85.9%. On the baccalaureate side, the success rate in the academy is 92.8%, up 1.3 points compared to 2023.

#AGDE – Château Laurens, in Agde, will participate in the final of the show The favorite monument of the French hosted by Stéphane Bern on France 2, in September 2024.
