Tragic road accident near Alès: two children and a young man die in the collision

Une fille d’environ 10 ans, un adolescent et un jeune adulte étaient à bord d’une voiture qui est entrée en collision avec un platane sur une route d’Allègre-les-Fumades, ce mardi 23 juillet.

A dramatic road accident occurred in Allègre-les-Fumades, near Alès, this Tuesday July 23 at the end of the day.

Around 7 p.m., on the RD7 near the Arlende sector, south of the village, a car left the road and collided with a plane tree on the edge of the roadway.

A child, a teenager and a young adult died instantly

Three young people were in the damaged car: a man aged twenty, a teenager aged around fifteen ;and a young girl of around ten years old according to information obtained by the Gard gendarmerie. All three belonged to the same family, living in a nearby town.

Despite a major intervention system on site, with the assistance, in particular, of an evacuation helicopter, the three victims did not survive to the drama. They were already in cardio-respiratory arrest when the firefighters arrived on site.

The impact against the plane tree suggests, first of all, that the vehicle was traveling at high speed. An investigation was opened to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
