Drug trafficking in Sète: a minor arrested in a “nurse” apartment used for stocking drugs and weapons of war

Cannabis, cocaine, ecstasy and weapons of war were once again found in an apartment on the island of Thau, during an anti-drug operation on July 23.

As part of the “clean-up” operations deployed since June in Sète and its surrounding areas, anti-drug police investigations are continuing. According to our information, a new raid took place on July 23 in the Ile de Thau district. Early in the morning, the police raided an apartment in one of the buildings, which they suspected was being used for storing products for drug trafficking. The police entered the premises following a judicial requisition. Inside, a search was carried out by the Sète narcotics squad and reinforcements from Montpellier.

Large quantities of drugs

The operation uncovered a large quantity of drugs. The police seized nearly 150g of cocaine, nearly 300g of grass, and approximately 1.5kg of cannabis resin packaged in the form of soap bars. The lot also contained more than fifty ecstasy tablets. The drugs were stored with a large sum of money, more than 7,000 euros in cash.

But the most worrying thing was that the weapons of war and handguns were found in the apartment. Three large-calibre weapons in total, with ammunition. Leading investigators to believe that it was a “nanny” apartment.

The police arrested a suspect who was on the premises. He is a minor aged 17. He was brought before an investigating judge for drug trafficking and then placed in pre-trial detention.
