Every Tuesday in the summer, at the end of the afternoon*, you will find something to stock up on food but also something to satisfy your ears with music and your eyes with music. an unmissable heritage wealth. The now traditional Villeneuvette organic market is already eleven years old. And he has more than one trick up his sleeve. 

Organic and local producers

Supported by the Villeneuvette Cultural Association, the event is managed in advance by Sigrid Chevalier, (responsible for the Villeneuvette Gallery): “With Chantal Frieh, for two or three years, we have been in charge of selecting and installing certified organic producers. And we completed the market with two events: the guided tour of the Manufacture Royale, in partnership with the Com Com du Clermontais and, between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., a small concert, at the chapeau, with the participation of the association and the refreshment bar “In the shade of the plane trees”. The idea is that people end their day by tasting Roberto's oysters and a small glass of local wine… Everything is local here, the producers of the market as well as the creators in my Gallery, there are similarities between these producers and local crafts."

Animations gathered on Tuesdays to preserve the tranquility of a "very eco-friendly village"

In the streets of the city built in the 17th century visitors rub shoulders with regulars of a market that brings a little extra of soul (and activity) to a village that is not lacking in it. Undeniably, “It's a plus for the village, with quality products and good musical vibes. We are a very eco-friendly village, we voted 100% for the Left Front, we stand out a little bit”, the craftswoman jokes. Above all, “We like our legendary tranquility but it's also good to bring some entertainment. That's why we brought everything together on the same evening: so as not to bother our residents too much."

On the music side, this Tuesday, July 30, it was time for tango with the Saint-Andréen duo "Corazon Al Sur". In this friendly and South American atmosphere, for the traders, "it's also an opportunity to meet up with fellow producers and make connections, appreciates Loïc Caron, a beekeeper in Cabrières. It is also important to meet people so that they can put a face to a name and see how we work. As the manager of a “human-sized” farm, the farmer appreciates the opportunity to “get his head out of the hives” once a week to take part in a “market that supports the organic sector”. At his side, between market gardener, olive oil producer or hand-picked bakers, winemaker Brice Salic offers tasting and sale of vintages from Estabel, the cooperative winery of Cabrières. The man is more than a regular at the organic market. Because this village in Clermontais also has a real taste for coming back… “I love Villeneuvette, I come here every day. It's my haven of peace.”
