This Tuesday, July 30th, in the early morning, when they came to check Léon Marchand in his room in the Olympic Village, the inspectors from the World Anti-Doping Agency came up empty-handed. In fact, they found no one in the Toulouse native's bed, who was therefore not sleeping with his teammates.

You shouldn't think that the swimming prodigy had sneaked out to sleep out like other athletes in these Olympic Games. Quite the opposite. If the Toulouse native has a separate room, it is because he is staying in an apartment paid for by the French swimming federation.

Avoiding fatigue

A measure taken to avoid additional fatigue while the Toulouse native is imposing a crazy schedule on himself during these Olympic Games. As L'Équipe indicates, to avoid long and tedious journeys across Paris, the Olympic village is about twenty kilometers from the Paris La Défense Arena, the federation has chosen to rent an apartment a stone's throw from the swimming pool. Léon Marchand can therefore walk to the place of his exploits. And thus be in the best conditions to achieve a feat.
