American rapper Dr. Dre would like to participate in the next Olympic Games in 2028 in Los Angeles in a rather new discipline.

While the rapper sang alongside Snoop Dogg at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, live from Los Angeles, Dr. Dre, whose real name is Andre Romelle Young, has other plans in mind. The Compton, California native would like to join the American delegation by 2028 and take part in the archery events. The singer has been practicing the sport since childhood and even continues to train in his backyard. Serious application or small statement to create buzz ?

He will need training

The singer of the global hit “The Next Episode" expressed this idea during a video interview with the American media Entertainment Tonight. “I started archery at school. I stopped for a while but my son bought a set of equipment. I set it up in my backyard and heard that the Olympic qualification was 77 feet. “I train at 90 feet,” said when asked why.

However, the 59-year-old rapper is completely wrong because at the Olympics, archers shoot from much further away. The archery events are held with a 122cm target made of material positioned 70 meters from the target. Dr. Dre will therefore have to train more and by moving the target considerably further back. To be continued…
