According to a source close to the family contacted by AFP, Mounir Nasraoui, the footballer's father who was stabbed several times, is now “out of danger” and “remains under observation” but his condition is"stable". Asked about the events and the possible date of the victim's release from hospital, the source did not wish to say more.

The events occurred on Wednesday at 9:10 p.m. in a parking lot in the Catalan city of Mataró, about thirty kilometers from Barcelona, ​​in the Rocafonda district, where Lamine Yamal is from, explained a spokesperson for the Mossos d'Esquadra, the regional police force Catalan.

At 23:00, three people were taken into custody and are currently being questioned at the Mataró police station, while a fourth individual is being actively sought. Investigators are also expected to question the victim “as soon as possible”, and witnesses in order to determine the circumstances of the attack, the police said.

He is being treated at the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital, also known as the Can Ruti Hospital, in Badalona. According to the Barcelona daily La Vanguardia, the incident occurred after an argument in the street with men who had approached him while he was walking his dog and who had returned to attack him.
