The rains of August 15 disrupted the festivities: the fireworks in Grau-du-Roi and Palavas were postponed to August 16, while those in La Grande-Motte and Carnon were able to take place as planned.
The heavy rains that hit the coast this Thursday, August 15, seriously disrupted summer festivities, forcing municipalities to postpone fireworks to adapt to the whims of the sky.
In Grau-du-Roi, the fireworks scheduled for yesterday evening at 10 p.m. were cancelled at the last minute. The municipality, under the direction of Mayor Robert Crauste, was quick to react by rescheduling the show for this Friday, August 16, still at 10 p.m., on the seafront, Boulevard Maréchal Juin.
In Palavas-les-Flots, there is also upheaval. The fireworks, supposed to light up the beach at the Hôtel de Ville, have been postponed to this evening, Friday, August 16, at 10:30 p.m. As for the popular ball with the Goldstar group, planned for the same evening, it will finally liven up the left bank jetty on Monday 19 August at 9 pm. And the traditional jousts will take place on Wednesday 21 August at 7 pm on the quays.
Despite the vagaries of the weather, the fireworks display at La Grande-Motte was able to take place as planned yesterday evening at 11 pm. Divers from the La Palanquée club also intervened this morning to recover the debris from the rockets that had fallen into the sea. In Carnon, the fireworks scheduled for 10:30 p.m. also took place as planned at the western outer harbor.
This Friday evening, the weather decided to cooperate: a gray sky, but not a drop in sight. The fireworks should therefore light up the night in Grau-du-Roi as in Palavas-les-Flots.
