Some 1,000 kilometers of cumulative traffic jams were recorded Saturday at midday, the day being classified as red “in the direction of returns” over the entire country by Bison Futé.

1037.5 km in total

At noon, traffic jams represented 1037.5 km in total, according to the Bison Futé website. On its forecast map, Bison Futé classified the day in black for the Grand Ouest and in red for the rest of the country.

In a press release, the road information center warned that “in the direction of departures, traffic will be heavy on all roads, throughout the day”.

“Difficulties could arise in the direction of Normandy (mainly the A13), the North-West regions (A84, N165, A11), Spain (A10, A63)", he said.

Also be careful for motorists "on the motorways crossing the Massif Central (A75), the Rhone Valley (A7) and the Mediterranean coast (A9)", their journeys could be considerably slowed down, according to Bison Futé.

Heavy traffic until late in the evening

In the return directions, "traffic will be very heavy from the beginning of the morning until late in the evening, from the western regions (A10 and A11 in particular), and from the Mediterranean coast (A7, A8 and A9)", according to the site.

Bison Futé also warns motorists of a "consequent" wait at toll barriers in Île-de-France. Sunday has also been classified as red by the information center.
