Le départ fictif de la 6e étape de la Vuelta a été donné depuis un lieu insolite : les allées d’un supermarché Carrefour.
As the French brand Carrefour is one of the major partners of the Vuelta, the organizers decided that it would be a good idea to start the race right next to the supermarket checkouts.

“On fait la course ou les courses”?”
The journalists therefore observed unusual scenes with more than 200 riders on their bikes set off in the middle of a shopping centre in southern Spain. Some cyclists even asked themselves humorously: “Are we racing or are we racing ?”.

This sixth stage, 185 kilometers long, starts from Jerez de la Frontera (province of Cádiz) to reach Yunquera (province of Málaga). The leader and red jersey Primoz Roglic (Red Bull – BORA – Hansgrohe) has an eight-second lead over his runner-up Joao Almeida (UAE Team Emirates).
