Asa Lozère mourns one of its founding members, Jacques Paoli, who was very involved in motorsport

A tireless volunteer, Jacques Paoli, former president of Asa Lozère from 1981 to 1987, left us last Friday at the age of 81. Jacques was vice-president of the Occitanie Méditerranée motorsport league, vice-president of the Asa Lozère of which he was one of the founding members, in 1967, alongside Colonel Henri.

A long-time friend of Jacques Régis, the former president of the FFSA, Jacques Paoli was at the origin of the creation of the Rallye Jeunes operation in which he had continued to participate for thirty years. He had even paid for the registration fee for this event for Sébastien Ogier, the well-known world champion.

A convinced volunteer

Sporting commissioner, race director, Jacques Paoli was convinced of the importance of volunteering and worked throughout his life to promote motorsport by organizing major events and supporting young drivers, passing on his knowledge and skills to those who succeeded him at the Asa.

Recently, he had been appointed as a federal observer on the rallies of the 2nd division French championship.

A tribute will be paid to him on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 2:30 p.m., at Mende Cathedral.
