Cockroaches, beetles… a restaurant in Cap d’Agde closed by the authorities

Located on Rue de la Gabelle, the “MT Tacos” brand has been repeatedly violating the most basic hygiene rules. State agents have noted multiple infractions.

Agents from the Hérault Departmental Directorate for the Protection of Populations carried out an inspection of the establishment "MT Tacos", located at 20, rue de la Gabelle in Agde.

In its press release, the Prefecture notes "serious breaches of hygiene and safety rules, with no refrigerated enclosure in working order, very insufficient cleaning and disinfection of the premises and equipment, a lack of maintenance of the premises, as well as the presence of pests (cockroaches) and ignorance of basic hygiene rules. Due to the seriousness of these failings and the risk to consumers' health, the Hérault prefect has decided to close the establishment. “A closure measure” which “can be lifted as soon as the establishment complies with current standards”, the press release states.
