His perseverance unfortunately did not pay off. Weather conditions prevented several planes from landing in Tenerife on Thursday, August 29. A pilot attempted the maneuver five times.

An Air France pilot attempted a landing five times in Tenerife, where he was supposed to take his passengers, who had left Paris Charles de Gaulle on August 29. That day, strong winds caused several planes to divert, as they had given up on attempting a landing, reports BFM Business.

Landing in Gran Canaria

But the pilot of this flight did not want to admit defeat at first. He tried to land despite the wind, not once, but five times. Our colleagues explain that the pilot finally turned around to land in Gran Canaria.

The flight is rescheduled for the next day, and the passengers have been rehoused while waiting to return to Tenerife.

BFM Business, which contacted Air France, explains that the repeated landing attempts are not due to the pilot's skills but rather to the weather conditions. "It can happen that on approach, the wind calms down and the alarm goes off, which gives the pilot a window to try to land", the pilot reacted.
