Une première journée scientifique sera organisée par le centre Hype-France du CHU de Nîmes le jeudi 19 septembre de 14 h à 17 h.

On Thursday, September 19, 2024, the Nîmes University Hospital (CHU) will inaugurate the HYPE-France resource center (Helping young people early), a center of expertise dedicated to early care and rehabilitation of young people suffering from borderline emotional disorders. This event, scheduled from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., will mark the launch of a crucial support center for these young people in difficulty.

A scientific day to launch the center

On the occasion of this inauguration, on September 19, a first scientific day will be organized by HYPE-France, in partnership with the Regional Federation for Research in Psychiatry and Mental Health (FERREPSY) Occitanie and the National Union of Families and Friends of People with Mental Illness and/or Disabilities (UNAFAM-30). The aim of this day will be to explore the importance of early intervention and rehabilitation care, by bringing together French and international experts.

The centre of expertise is inspired by the Australian model Orygen Specialist Program, with personalised outpatient care and coordination of pathways by case managers (case manager). “This model offers an innovative approach in France, integrating the young people's entourage for comprehensive support”, explains Dr. Clémentine Estric, coordinating psychiatrist of HYPE-France at the Nîmes University Hospital.

Funding for a major impact

Funded by the Organizational Innovation Funds in Psychiatry (FIOP) of the Occitanie Regional Health Agency and the Ministry of Health to the tune of 474,000 euros, the HYPE-France center aims to transform the care of young people with disorders borderline in France, by promoting early and adapted interventions.

The opening of the HYPE-France center at the Nîmes University Hospital promises to meet an urgent need and provide hope for recovery for young people in emotional distress.

Inauguration on Thursday, September 19, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Amphitheater of the Archives du Gard. Free registration.
