Consumer reminder: these unapproved “puff” electronic cigarettes are circulating in France

On September 6, 2024, the Rappel conso website issued an alert on mislabeled disposable electronic cigarettes sold in France.

Beware of disposable cigarettes in circulation. On Friday, a consumer recall was issued by the dedicated site for several references of the same brand. It is Caesar, which produces these devices called "Puff".

The concept, disposable cigarettes that work on the same principle as e-cigarettes : the device heats a product, which creates a vapor to inhale, with or without nicotine.

Four references concerned

Four references of the Caesar brand are concerned by this recall: the Vegas 2% (9000202309056), Amstredam 2% (9000202309025), Hot Beirut (9000202309025) and Pirates 2% (9000202309049). These cigarettes are sold in individual boxes.

Labeling problem

The devices are recalled for several reasons, starting with labeling problems. The name, address and supplier number are missing from the packaging and some additional safety measures are missing.

Neither the hazard pictogram, nor the warnings or warnings to be careful, appear on these products.

People who own these devices are advised to check the affected batches and stop using these cigarettes. In addition, they must contact the point of sale, return the device and request a refund.

As a reminder, electronic cigarettes are strongly discouraged for non-smokers. They are intended for people who want to quit smoking. And even if they are less dangerous than classic cigarettes, they can represent real risks for health.
