Family picnic turns tragic: Man splashes hot coffee on baby's face, international manhunt for him

On Monday, September 9, 2024, Australian police issued an international arrest warrant for a 33-year-old man who threw scalding coffee in the face of a baby during a picnic in Brisbane Park.

Brisbane Park in Australia has suffered an attack of unspeakable cowardice. During a family picnic, a 33-year-old man attacked a nine-month-old baby by pouring scalding coffee in his face on August 27, 2024, according to a statement from Queensland Police.

The “most cowardly crime”

"I had no idea where this person was, “I didn't want to leave that hospital because it had become our safe space,” the baby's mother told ABC News.

“When I got home I had panic attacks and I still have them. “I will always have fear and anxiety about being in public with my son. It has affected my mental health for the rest of my life.” she adds.

Detective Inspector Dalton said that “the QPS (Queensland Police Service) is fully committed to doing everything in his power, legally, to bring this person back here to face justice”.
