Montpellier-Paris in two hours, "mission possible": the offbeat advertising spot and the spectacular staging of Montpellier airport

The recent extension of the metro to Orly airport shortens the connection between Montpellier and the centre of Paris. The airport is promoting it with a humorous advertising spot on the theme of the film “Mission Impossible”. This Thursday, its presentation even gave rise to a zip line descent from the top of the Arbre blanc.

A successful PR stunt by Montpellier airport to promote its Montpellier-Paris line. The extension of the metro to Orly airport, on the occasion of the 2024 Olympic Games, shortens the connection to reach the center of the capital. Hence an advertising campaign on the theme “Montpellier-Paris in two hours: mission possible!”

Film reference

Reference, of course, to the film “Mission Impossible”. The Montpellier airport had an offbeat promotional clip made, which uses the codes of the spy film. To present it, this Thursday, September 12 at the Arbre Blanc, a zip line descent from the roof of the 17-story building, on the banks of the Lez, was organized. Reference, here again, to the performance of the actor Tom Cruise during the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games at the Stade de France.

The way to make an impression on the competitiveness of the plane to reach the heart of Paris. “Before, you had to take a taxi or use complicated public transport”, commented Emmanuel Brehmer, the airport director. Now, 25 minutes and a ticket for 10.30 euros are enough. “You have to convince customers who also look at the price. We are significantly cheaper. “We have to make it known,” the director continues.

In the spot that we will be able to discover in the coming days, the hero, filmed on the Place de la Comédie, is getting ready to join the Montpellier Opera, while he is expected in two hours at the Paris Opera. No problem, thanks to the new Orly-Paris connection, he will arrive on time. A production by the Nîmes agency K Prodz.
