3-year-old girl died of heat in backseat: Drunk mother passes out behind the wheel of her car in parking lot

The forty-year-old was driving her car while intoxicated. She had then parked her vehicle in a parking lot before fainting. In the back, the 3-year-old girl was unable to escape the passenger compartment and eventually died of heat.

It was 40 degrees in the city of Anaheim, California that day, enough to cause the car to overheat in just a few hours. Family members discovered the child's lifeless body. Despite multiple attempts at resuscitation and her transport to the hospital, the little girl did not survive. Her mother, meanwhile, was able to receive treatment.

Involuntary manslaughter

The forty-year-old woman was charged with involuntary manslaughter and arrested. Several empty alcohol containers were found on board the vehicle. The mother has another child, aged five. Fortunately, he was at school at that time. An investigation is underway.
