The Gard Building Federation alerts elected officials: "Housing must be a major national cause"

Les parlementaires gardois ont été invités par la FFB du Gard

Ce lundi 16 septembre, la FFB du Gard recevait députés et sénateurs gardois pour les alerter sur la situation dégradée du secteur du bâtiment.

Nothing is going well in the building! The message, hammered home by professionals for months, was once again repeated to the Gard parliamentarians by the board of directors of the French Building Federation of Gard.
Senators Denis Bouad and Laurent Burgoa were present, as were MPs Sylvie Josserand, Pascale Bordes, Pierre Meurin and Yoann Gillet, represented by his substitute Jean-Pierre Fuster.

500 fewer jobs
Pierre Martin, the president of the FFB of Gard, immediately presented alarming figures: “For example, the consumption of concrete down 31% over 12 months”. A president annoyed to note that despite the warnings issued for two years, “the government has done nothing to reverse the decline in activity. Today, we still have no government and even less a Minister of Housing. A full-fledged one will be needed, given the urgency of the situation’s demand".

A delay in decisions that is detrimental, believes the FFB. "The first signs are visible both in terms of failures and layoffs. Over a year, that's almost 500 fewer jobs in our department (out of a total of 11,292) and that doesn't seem to shock anyone", he continued.

All elected officials shared their concern to prioritize their actions on the building.
