For 17 years, the residents of the Hameau de Gandalous have wanted to see development work carried out in this communal subdivision. In March 2024, an information meeting allowed residents and elected officials to discuss and present the planned project: construction of the roadway and development of green spaces, in 2024 for the upper part and in 2025 for the lower part.

Now for the first phase of this work, which will begin on September 16: The green spaces will be delimited by a border in order to reinforce the landscaped aspect. The base of the facades that have not been covered to date will be planted with perennials and/or grasses. In order to guarantee the perfect flow of runoff water towards the green spaces, the curbs of the sidewalks will not be jointed. The bitumen of the roadway will be completely redone.

Improving the living environment

Stabilized materials will be laid on the pedestrian paths of the roadway. The public lighting recently modernized with LED lanterns will not be changed, with a few exceptions. The work is being carried out by the Sévigné company and should be completed by mid-October. The cost of this work for the first phase is 125,000 euros including tax.

In 2025, an equivalent amount will be set aside in the budget for the completion of the second phase of the subdivision. A new step towards improving the living environment and a commitment kept by the City of Millau towards the residents of this district who have been waiting a long time.
