The perpetrator of stabbings in the parking lot of a Hérault nightclub arrested in Avignon four months after the incident

The events took place on the night of May 11 to 12, 2024, around 5 a.m., in the parking lot of the Le Milk nightclub in Saint-Jean-de-Védas, near Montpellier.
It was a meticulous investigation, conducted by the gendarmes of the Castelnau-le-Lez Research Brigade, which led to the arrest, this Tuesday, September 17, of an Avignon resident, now 18 years old but a minor at the time of the events.
This The latter had been wanted for four months for stabbing a young man of the same age from Hérault three times during a violent fight that broke out in the car park of the nightclub Le Milk, located on rue du Mas-de-Grille. in Saint-Jean-de-Védas, near Montpellier.
Free attack
The events date back to the night of May 11 to 12, 2024, around 5 a.m., and involved around fifteen individuals, including the victim.
According to the investigation, she had received three stab wounds, in the chest, elbow and thigh, even though she was not taking part in the fight and had had no contact, either physical or verbal, with the perpetrator of her attack. The latter had attacked her gratuitously, before fleeing.
Three days of ITT
Taken into care by the emergency services, this 17-year-old minor was taken to the Lapeyronie hospital center from where he left during the day with a total incapacity to work for three days and significant post-traumatic stress disorder.
Given the seriousness of the facts, the public prosecutor had then entrusted the investigations to the gendarmes of the Castelnau-le-Lez company's Research Brigade.
Identified thanks to the cameras
The knife, found on site, had been submitted for analysis. But although papillary traces of the accused had been found, they had not matched the database. The perpetrator being unknown to the police and gendarmerie services.
The same goes for the interviews with the victim and witnesses which did not allow us to trace the aggressor. It was finally the broadcast of a screenshot showing a close-up of his face, taken from the establishment's video protection and city video surveillance operations, that allowed him to be identified.

And this, thanks to the invaluable help of a municipal police officer from Avignon who recognized the accused on the broadcast file sent to all services.
Arrested and taken into custody this Tuesday September 17, this very young adult admitted the facts in hearing. Referred to the juvenile prosecutor of the City of the Popes, he was finally released, under judicial supervision, pending his trial scheduled for October 4 before the juvenile judge.
