In Lunel, the Maison Rousseau festival was full of ideas and words

And one more! And hopefully, many more. Because the first Fête de la Maison Jean-Jacques-Rousseau was a full house, this Friday, September 20th, afternoon and evening.

A test transformed into a success that we owe above all to the team of the structure, to the Caf de l'Hérault, to the volunteers and to the associations that came to lend a hand that day.

Nearly 500 people on the day

To families and citizens too – there were nearly 500 on the day – who really played the game by making the trip, most of them for the first time, to this place.

A place that is not yet well-known enough and that is just waiting to be, and that houses the essential projects of the inhabitants of Lunel and the combined values ​​of solidarity, respect and equality, as Manuel Cabanillas, the director of the Maison Rousseau since March, stressed in his speech.

Towards a participatory social project

However, it was outside that the various workshops took place to get the socio-cultural center out of its walls.
Man in the street interviews, small washhouse, open forum, speaking workshops, games… were so many shared moments that allowed to gather the ideas, desires, needs of the inhabitants.

A participatory consultation that will now be anchored in the policy of the Maison Jean-Jacques-Rousseau in order to create with everyone and for everyone the next social project 2026-2031.

“A space where ideas are born and projects are built”, concluded Mayor Pierre Soujol during the inauguration which gently led the public towards an aperitif dinner prepared by the members of the structure's cooking workshop. Before the first notes of the show Boulevard boulégant by the Colporteurs de rêve sounded around 8pm. The audience had a dream and is asking for more!
