A national strike in the National Education system is scheduled for Tuesday, October 1, 2024, led by an inter-union group bringing together the CGT, FO, FSU, Solidaires and other organizations.

“Everyone on strike on October 1 for our salaries, our pensions. To finally obtain positions and an end to the knowledge clash. Let's not give up, our demands are just and we are legitimate in expressing them”, posted the CGT-Educ’action on the social network X on September 25, 2024.

Just one month after the start of the school year, a national strike in the National Education system has been announced for this Tuesday, October 1, 2024, led by an inter-union group bringing together the CGT, FO, FSU, Solidaires and other organizations, reports in particular Sud-Ouest.

This mobilization is taking place in a context of tensions, particularly in relation to the pension reform, which is widely contested. The unions are demanding wage increases and better working conditions. Additional resources are being requested, particularly in schools where classes are overcrowded and staff are lacking.
