The French clothing store chain Kiabi discovered in July that it had been the victim of a “sophisticated financial fraud of considerable magnitude”, management told AFP on Friday, September 27, 2024, confirming information from France Info which puts the embezzlement at “100 million euros”.

A 39-year-old woman was spotted by investigators from the major financial crime group (OCRGDF) this summer, in the middle of August.
Who is the suspect??
The suspect is a former treasurer of the company who appears to be behind a colossal embezzlement. She then left France and works in Florida in the luxury goods sector.
The former collaborator was apparently not very careful, showing herself on social networks during vacations or lavish parties.
Placed in police custody, the former treasurer of Kiabi was brought back to Paris, charged with "fraud and money laundering in an organized gang", reports the public service radio. Investigators do not believe she could have acted alone.
A scam “worthy of a Netflix series”
Following her indictment, the former employee of the “low-cost” clothing brand was placed in pretrial detention.
