The Heart of Lozère strengthens its arguments to attract businesses and support economic development

An afterwork was organized at the Gévaudan museum on Thursday, October 3, 2024, bringing together entrepreneurs from the sector, as part of the agreement between the community of communes and the CCI.

Attracting, maintaining businesses in the area and enabling them to develop is a real challenge for the future of Lozère. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Cœur de Lozère community of communes share this same objective. They have therefore decided to sign a partnership agreement.

Of course, we were already working together. But entering into an agreement is an even stronger commitment to specific objectives, insists Laurent Suau, president of the community of communes. We have been working for a long time to attract new businesses and enable the economic development of the area. We want to go even further with this partnership."

Knowing the businesses

There are many areas of work. And among them, an important place is given to meetings. It was this aspect that motivated the afterwork that was organized on Thursday, October 3, 2024, in the early evening, in a Gévaudan museum privatized for the occasion.

Nearly 80 people gathered in the hall. The program included some useful data for businesses, discussions, "networking" and free access to the museum. "It is important that communities are aware of the needs of businesses and that they try to adapt to them", confided Laurent Suau, also president of the Department. And he added: "In our territory, public procurement represents 70% of investment. In recent years, we have tried to support investment for businesses, and we will continue. We are fortunate to have healthy communities, with the capacity to invest."

Levers

Céline Janvier, for the community of communes, took advantage of this opportunity to present the project to support the transfers and takeovers of businesses. An innovative format, developed with the Auxilia firm, creator of the operation “My city center has an incredible business”, which Mende has already been able to successfully test. The new system will bring together businesses to be taken over, project leaders and experts from the economic world.

The evening also provided an opportunity, thanks to the presence of State services, to provide useful information to business leaders, in terms of taxation and recruitment aid linked to the Priority Neighborhood status of the city policy from which Fontanilles benefits. For example, companies can obtain financial assistance to hire any unemployed person living in this area. A new lever to convince companies to settle in the Heart of Lozère and to develop there.
