The Ukrainian military announced on Friday that it had hit a fuel depot in the Russian Voronezh region in a nighttime drone attack.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, eighteen Ukrainian drones were intercepted by air defense systems, including six over the Belgorod region and six more over the Voronezh region, close to Ukraine.

The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry also said it was investigating the cause of a fire at a fuel depot in the Urals, 1,500 km from the fire zone. fighting.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported the firing of 19 drones by Russia on Ukrainian territory, nine of which were shot down and seven others neutralized thanks to electronic jamming.

Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant Employee Killed in Bombing

An employee of the Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in southern Ukraine was killed in a car bombing on Friday morning, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation said.

The plant's management blamed the explosion on the Ukrainian side.
The employee, Andrei Korotky, died after a bomb planted under his car exploded outside his home in Enerhodar, a town near the plant. He worked in the plant's security service, according to the committee, which has opened an investigation into the manslaughter.

In a statement, the plant's management denounced an act orchestrated by the Ukrainian authorities. Ukraine did not immediately comment.

“This is a horrible and inhuman act”, said Director Yuri Chernichuk. “The attack on employees responsible for ensuring the security of the nuclear facility is a thoughtless and outrageous act”, he added.

Observers from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are permanently on site at the plant. The IAEA urged both sides to refrain from attacks on infrastructure.

Japan's new Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba warned Friday of an increasingly “divided” and prone to “confrontation” world from a policy speech delivered to Parliament.
