A full house, recruits in form, opponents in confidence… this BLMA-Landerneau was looking promising. The Gazelles, trailing 5-0 after a minute of play, woke up immediately to pass a 19-0 to their Breton opponents.

The skill of Elodie Naigre, the vision of Ana Suarez on the pick-and-roll with her Cameroonian pivot Dulcy Fankam (13 points and 10 rebounds), or the defensive activity of Garance Rabot and Hortense Limouzin… this BLMA stifled the Landernean ambitions which responded thanks to its duo of American guards Baker-Woolfolk (12 and 16 points). Jasmine Bailey, new guard at Lattes-Montpellier showed her full range of skills, however, she and her teammates were only six points ahead at the break (36-30).

Avalanche of three points

It was at the start of the second half that the sky was going to fall on the heads of the Finistériennes. The sky and the three-point shots of the Gazelles, who made six in this period alone (56-36). to wrap up the match while Landerneau was still trying to hang on (64-51).

The last quarter saw the intensity drop as quickly as the skill and the Gazelles finally won 75-59, without trembling. Dominant on the rebound (41 to 30), more skillful from long distance (11/25) but also with a well-distributed scoring and six players above 8 points scored, the Latto-Montpelliéraines can continue to advance serenely.

“We got the result we were hoping for by respecting the game plan, we were able to enjoy the atmosphere, it's positive", rejoiced the leader Hortense Limouzin, for her first at the Lattes sports hall.
