"For about twenty years...": actress Pamela Anderson, who won an award for a role, admits to having suffered from depression

La célèbre Pamela Anderson était présente au Festival du film de Zurich, où elle a remporté un prix. Mais l’actrice a également confié avoir été dépressive plusieurs décennies.

The Zurich Film Festival 2024 is being held in Switzerland from October 3 to 13. The Baywatch star was there to receive a Golden Eye for her role in Gia Coppola's latest film, The Last Showgirl . But during her acceptance speech, the 57-year-old world-famous blonde made revelations about her mental health.

A more open actress

During her speech, the American looked back on part of her career, but also some difficult stages of her life.

“When I look at it now, I feel like I went from Baywatch to Broadway. I don't know what happened in between, it's all a blur. I'm just happy to be here, at this moment, because I think I suffered from depression for about 20 years,…", she said, according to Variety, as reported by the Huffington Post.

The more time passes, the more the 57-year-old actress reveals herself. In 2022, she released a documentary film called  Pamela : A love story, but she also released an autobiography the following year.

"Ryan [White] made that documentary and that's how Gia (Coppola) saw me. I always knew I was capable of more. It's great to be a part of pop culture, but it's both a blessing and a curse. People fall in love with you because of a bathing suit. “It took a long time, but I'm here,” she told Variety.
