Quality of services, welcome and beauty of landscapes: the keys to the success of the Aveyron destination

Aveyron tourism professionals "generally satisfied" with the 2024 summer season.

With September finally over, Aveyron tourism professionals have drawn up an initial assessment of the summer season. A "generally satisfactory" assessment judging by the results of the latest economic report from the Aveyron Departmental Agency for Attractiveness and Tourism (Adat) based on some 600 testimonies.

Thus, in view of the attendance "stable"for the period from July 1 to September 30 (- 0.1%), summer 2024 will end with an increase in overnight stays (+ 1.9%), as well as in foreign customers (+ 3.4%), to the detriment, however, of French customers who have fallen sharply this summer (- 5.9%).

“This 2024 summer season got off to a late start, influenced by several factors (political situation, weather, Olympic Games, etc.) and was shortened. According to the Aveyron tourism providers interviewed, the busiest period extended from the weekend of July 20 to that of August 15,”, develops Adat, which welcomes a small novelty: the spreading of the “tourist peak” on the wings of the season, namely the months of May, June, but especially September.

Nearly 90% of tourists satisfied

“Concentrated only on the months of July and August, the season now extends from July to the end of September”, observes the departmental agency and this is the paradox, despite "a month of September in mixed tones, marked by mixed weather and temperatures fresh."

For comparison, "September 2023 had been particularly favorable, extending the summer season thanks to ideal weather conditions", continues Adat. As a result, tourism providers were hoping for a similar scenario this year. Despite these less advantageous conditions, 57% of professionals nevertheless consider their activity in September to be higher or equivalent to that of last year."

Enough to boost the morale of professionals who can also count on the positive image of the Aveyron destination. Following their stays, nearly 90% of tourists gave a positive opinion, highlighting the triptych once again brought together: “quality of the services offered by the department, warm welcome from the Aveyronnais and beauty of the landscapes."
