Daniel Sacarabany chooses to serve differently and in Lodève for the end of his career

Daniel veut désormais faire partager son expérience professionnelle et personnelle au travers de thérapies. ML – A.M.

Passé par les forces spéciales et la gendarmerie, l’ancien officier a fait un choix de vie à 58 ans, en ouvrant un cabinet de psychopraticien dans le centre de Lodève.

After 35 years in the army, in two parachute regiments, then in the gendarmerie where he held positions of high responsibility, Daniel Sacarabany chose to « settle &raquo in Lodève at the age of 58, as part of a career change to open a psycho-practitioner's office, Place Alsace-Lorraine, where he shares skills that he has tested and put into practice during his career.

From the field to positions of high responsibility

“I left the special forces after 10 years, after a traffic accident, to start a career in the gendarmerie in a position mainly in human resources in Paris” indicates Daniel Sacarabany who passed the competitive examination for officers of the technical and administrative corps specializing in support.

"I worked in Paris, before going to the officers' school in Melun as head of human resources". A position that he would then occupy for six years at the GIGN. "I was each time the first officer of the technical and administrative corps to occupy this position." Before then becoming responsible for the gendarmes of Languedoc-Roussillon then of the Auvergne region with 40 personnel under his command.

“My career began as a grenadier voltigeur before ending up at the rank of colonel in very exhausting positions, with sustained rhythms. This influenced my choice to leave the gendarmerie, my job of heart and passion, continues the former soldier of Martinican origin. I have always lived with the motivation to serve my country, to serve France during these years when I learned cohesion, camaraderie, surpassing oneself and courage." And where he also began personal development work, when, upon the death of his wife, he found himself with his two young children.

"It was the period when I was in the GIGN, I discovered different tools that I then used in my relationships with the personnel under my orders with more attentive listening. It was an eye-opener for me.”" To the point of choosing to make it a career in a new life in Lodève, where his partner has settled and lives.

A choice of life

“It's a city on a human scale, with real suffering, openness to others and a lot of creativity that I like a lot, continues the man who has swapped his uniform for civilian clothes. This choice gives meaning to my life with a different, more intimate sense of service to help people overcome trauma, work on phobias, addictions, work exhaustion problems or emotional shocks."

To do this, Daniel Sacarabany draws on his past and methods for which he is trained, such as hypnosis, EMDR which uses eye movements, cognitive and behavioral therapy or Gelstalt therapy which works on the present and the patient's empowerment.
