Flavors and Knowledge Festival in Uzès: follow the chefs, from the producers’ market to the big meal!

La nouvelle édition du festival Saveurs et savoirs à Uzès du 10 au 13 octobre promet de rassasier le public friand de "plus de gestes de cuisine".

We won't just be tasting… This year, chefs, sommeliers, producers will share their flavors and knowledge during the festival's culinary meetings: from the genius of street kitchens to the starred chefs of grand meals… A rich program with on the menu, a public meatball competition, gastronomic dictation, culinary demonstrations… Imagined by Eric de Kermel, Elisa Sanchez and Carole Nicolas, the festival is held at L’Ombrière (meetings with culinary personalities), at the Capitole cinema (screenings) and finally at the Loggia (culinary demonstrations).

Meatball competition, a new feature not to be missed on Friday

On the program, Thursday October 10, Glenn Viel (three Michelin stars), the chef of L’Oustau de Baumanière will host a masterclass to open the Festival at l’Ombrière. Friday 11, the emblems of gastronomy are in the spotlight with Michel Bras (screening of the documentary film Entre les Bras which retraces the father-son handover, in one of the best restaurants in the world). Also on the bill, a masterclass with the figure of bistro cuisine Yves Camdeborde. On the same day at L'Ombrière, the meatball competition (new for the 2024 edition) will see the most formidable in the field compete…

Gard aux talents gardois with Jérôme Nutile and Serge Chenet at work

No gastronomy festival without Gard aux chefs: Serge Chenet (restaurant entre Vigne et Garrigue) and Jérôme Nutile… will do a “small” demonstration (at Loggia, Friday 11). On Sunday the 13th, it will be the turn of Sébastien Rath (Auberge de Saint-Hilaire) and Georgiana Viou (Le Rouge) to try their hand at it!

A new challenge concocted by the festival organizers, the gastronomic dictation (at the Capitole, Saturday the 12th) peppered with words from culinary jargon… Gourmet rewards up for grabs. The losers will be able to stock up at the producers' market on Sunday 13th on Place aux Herbes.

This year, the meeting is also based on an off-festival, off-program activities complete the second edition: the opportunity to discover organic and local cuisine of yesteryear (at the Georges-Borias museum), a detour to the chocolate factory of Alfonso Cannarozzo, the artisan of Boulevard Gambetta, or even a visit to the Capitole for appreciate Jean Gabin from the screen to the plate… between flavors and knowledge.
