In this context of rain and storms, Nîmes Métropole prefers to take all necessary measures to protect the population.

The bad weather has taken its toll on the Nîmes Métropole Jazz Festival. At least for this Thursday evening… The concert by Michel Pastre and Dany Doriz and the Happy Six Warmers (opening act), scheduled for this Thursday, October 17 at 8:30 p.m. at the Pierre Clavel hall in Saint-Chaptes, has been cancelled due to the severe weather currently hitting the Gard department. This Thursday early afternoon, the Nîmes Metropolis published an official press release announcing the decision, taken to ensure the safety of residents in the face of the Cévennes rain and storm episode.

A cancellation as a precaution

The Gard department is in fact placed on orange alert for the risks of "rain flooding", "storm" and "flood" all day long (more information on our website). Local authorities deemed it necessary to cancel the concert, initially organized as part of the Fathers and Sons tour which featured saxophonist Michel Pastre and vibraphonist Dany Doriz. The jazz group Happy Six Warmers was also scheduled to perform as the opening act.

For spectators who have purchased tickets, Nîmes Métropole is setting up a refund system. Those concerned are invited to contact the dedicated service on 04 34 03 57 29 for any request. It is important to note that no refunds will be made via the online ticketing platform nmjf.fr. "This cancellation, although regrettable for jazz lovers, is a necessary response to the meteorological emergency affecting the Gard", said Stéphane Kochoyan, artistic director of the Nîmes Métropole Jazz Festival.
