This Saturday morning nearly 70 farmers will demonstrate, with 47 tractors, in a convoy from Rebourgil to the center of Saint-Affrique. They are not planning a traffic blockade but a symbolic gathering in the parking lot of a supermarket.
In small groups, this Saturday morning, in the fog, the tractors reach the Saint-Pierre crossroads in Rebourguil. They park before leaving in a convoy escorted by the gendarmerie to Saint Affrique. There, they plan to take a city tour.
Julien, 45 years old, cow's milk and meat producer from Belmont Sur Rance in GAEC with his wife and his 23-year-old son already present last weekend is back again. "We only have promises. And promises don't help. We must show that the agricultural world is still there."
"We are not revolutionaries"
"We are not revolutionaries, but we want to earn a decent living. We always have the same demands. It sends us foreign products that are produced with the same standards as us. And also we must stop the bureaucracy. We can't spend 20% of our time filling out paperwork."
