A 15-year-old teenager suffers a cardiac arrest during a football match: the father of one of the players rushes to his aid

Ce samedi 9 mars 2024, un adolescent âgé de 15 ans a fait un arrêt cardio respiratoire alors qu'il disputait un match de football à Chalon-sur-Saône. 

During a U15 football match this Saturday, a young player suffered a cardiac arrest. It was the father of one of the teenagers participating in the meeting who carried out the first aid procedures. His heart has returned, reports France bleu.

Cardiac arrest in the middle of a match

At the Léo-Lagrange stadium in Chalon-sur-Saône this Saturday, an U15 football match was being played around 10:30 a.m. During the match, one of the players, aged only 15 years old, suffered a heart attack.

A player's father gives him a heart massage

It was the father of one of the teenagers who played in the match who came to the young man's aid. He is a firefighter himself. Rushing towards him, he provided first aid gestures, our colleagues say. For many minutes, while waiting for help to arrive, he performed a cardiac massage to restart the victim's heart.

Finally saved

Finally, the teenager was able to be taken care of by the emergency services who took over to resuscitate him. They were able to restart his heart. The young man was rushed by helicopter to the University Hospital Center in the city of Dijon, capital of Burgundy.
