About 20 minutes later, the police, assisted by local firefighters, located the baby's body in Hudson Creek.

Paramedics called in to help quickly attempt to to resuscitate the toddler and brought him to the hospital, where his death could only be confirmed. Everything suggests that the child drowned after his father escaped him while trying to flee.

Galorenzo, for his part, was found and arrested by the police. The suspect was believed to be intoxicated by drugs or alcohol and will be charged with impaired driving and careless driving, police said.
