A 2,000 euro plot, a 666 euro mascot, a 250 euro duvet… the crazy sale of souvenirs from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

A month after the closing of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, items from the event are being sold at astronomical prices.

The Paris Olympics have been over for several weeks and various items from the event are now selling at exorbitant prices. According to the TF1 program “Sept à Huit”, on various online sales sites, it is possible to find among other things: a cone for 1999 euros, a duvet for 250 euros, decorative grand pianos for 500 euros, portable toilets for 50 euros, a mascot for 666 euros and a packet of condoms from the village for 80 euros.

“It's shameful to sell for money”

Several items for sale are creating controversy on the web, including a Marathon for All medal at a price of 300 euros. “It's shameful to sell for money, especially since registration was free! Perhaps stolen from the boxes at the finish line ?” deplores an Internet user on Facebook, as noted by our colleagues. “When I think of all those who struggled to get a bib…", comments another.

Fans aren't the only ones selling Olympic products. Even athletes try to earn a few hundred euros on Vinted or Ebay. Like this French woman who participated in a discipline that remained secret according to TF1 who put up for sale a pair of sneakers created by the shoemaker Berluti for 1,300 euros. The athlete explains, however, that she is not proud of selling an object obtained for free.
