MONTREAL – A 38-year-old was stabbed in the stomach in a conflict that has turned violent on Wednesday afternoon, in the borough of Lachine, in Montreal.
The armed attack occurred shortly before 15 pm, on the rue Léo-Mess, near the park, Kirkland.
According to the authorities, a conflict had erupted between the victim and another individual. At some point, the suspect allegedly unsheathed a knife and reportedly attacked his rival, wounding him in the upper body.
The victim was rushed to the hospital to treat significant injuries which do not however put his life in danger.
The suspect fled after the crime and had still not been apprehended by late afternoon.
A security perimeter was erected around the place of the assault and the investigation went on site to investigate the scene.
The reason for the conflict between the two men remains unknown.
