|MISE À DAY
Nashville Predators Quebec defenseman Alexandre Carrier was named to the 2021-2022 National Hockey League (NHL) All-Rookie Team on Tuesday night.
The Quebec native impressed in his first full season on the Bettman circuit. Carrier had 27 assists and 30 points in 77 games. Both are team bests for a first-year guard.
The right-hander also finished his campaign with a +26 differential, another record for skaters who are on their first lap with the “Preds”.
Carrier is also the third player in the history of the Nashville club to be elected to the rookie team, after forward Filip Forsberg (2014-15) and goaltender Juuse Saros (2017-18).
The 25-year-old defenseman was a fourth-round pick (115th overall) of the Predators in the draft of 2015. Before establishing himself full-time in the NHL this season, he counted on an experience of 24 games in the best hockey league in the world.
Moritz Seider, of the Detroit Red Wings, is the other back having been selected on this team of young stars. The German also got his hands on the prestigious Calder Trophy.
Gotkeeper Jeremy Swayman (Boston Bruins), as well as forwards Michael Bunting (Toronto Maple Leafs), Lucas Raymond (Red Wings) and Trevor Zegras (Anaheim Ducks), are the other 2021-22 All-Rookie Team members.
