A fake Uber driver who allegedly sexually assaulted his intoxicated victims in Ottawa must answer for justice.
H issan Hamad, 37, of Ottawa, surrendered to the authorities on Saturday. He was charged with two criminal leaders.
A first incident occurred in the wee hours on Thursday near the Byward Market.
The thirty-year-old would have done these things while driving. According to the victim, the wandering driver then ordered him to withdraw money from an ATM.
This weekend, the Ottawa police said they feared that the suspect would systematically “look like drunk women out of bars or restaurants” at the closing.
A second victim said he was assaulted by the same person on Friday.
According to the police, there could be other victims.
“The Ottawa police strongly advise people to check their driver Uber’s proof of identity before boarding his vehicle, and remind them that Uber drivers do not accept cash. ”
Similar cases were reported in December 2017 and January 2018.
