Le week-end du 25 et 26 mai, l’association O2 d’étudiants en soins infirmiers de l’IFSI Bagnols-sur-Cèze et le comité des fêtes organisent la Color’s Week au parc Rimbaud.

The O2 association of nursing students at IFSI Bagnols-sur-Cèze and the festival committee are preparing two festive days on May 25 and 26 at Arthur Rimbaud Park for the Color& rsquo;s Week 2024. "This year we are offering a new format over two days", announces the president of the O2 association, Raphaël De Gasquet, 3rd year student from Bagnolais at IFSI. There will be, for the first time, a bodega on Saturday evening hosted by DJ Loïc. The next day, at 11 a.m., it's time for the traditional Color’s on Cèze. This 5 kilometer family race has the particularity of being very colorful! "We have five arches located on the course where volunteers will throw colored powder at the participants."

Runners will start from Parc Rimbaud, take Chemin Sainte-Marie then Avenue Paul-Langevin to reach Boulevard Lacombe. A refreshment point is planned halfway, at Mont-Cotton before taking Rue de la République to return to Parc Rimbaud. "On arrival, there will be a big powder throw with all the participants", announces Raphaël De Gasquet.< /p>

Rewards for those who come in groups

This year, the organizers want to encourage group participation. They therefore invited firefighters, local businesses and even hospital staff to their event. To motivate the troops, rewards will be awarded to the most festive, colorful group and with the most participants. The best disguise and the first in the race will also be awarded.

Organizing Color’s Week, which is their biggest event of the year, requires investment. "It’s not always easy to juggle our courses, our internships and the association. You have to find the time. This year, we had more difficulty approaching sponsors because of inflation, says the president. Fortunately the festival committee also supports us financially."

An association with a lot of turnover

The proceeds from the refreshment bar and catering at Parc Rimbaud will be shared between the festival committee and the O2 association which has 130 members."It’is complicated because every year there are departures and arrivals of students. We're starting a bit from scratch. Next year I should leave the hand but with the office we try to do things well so that the actions put in place last."

Beyond Color’s Week, the future nurses and the holiday committee collaborate to organize bodegas at the ice rink during the Christmas festivities and&nbsp ;for the monthly lottery at the Halles de la Cèze. The proceeds from the raffle are systematically donated to the O2 association.
